How can I get help with GroupWise?
Within GroupWise, choose Help from the menu and select Help Topics or Guides. You can also Double-click the GroupWise Online Help icon in your Application Launcher or click here.

| 2. What is my e-mail address?
If you use the Department's GroupWise system your e-mail address is as follows: MEDICINE: username@medicine.umaryland.edu GRECC: username@grecc.umaryland.edu MBRC: username@mbrc.umaryland.edu
|
| 3. Why do I periodically receive an
e-mail from Quarantine Digest Message datacomm@umaryland.edu?
If you receive this e-mail, the Anti-spam server(Meridius) has detected SPAM destined for your e-mail address and has quarantined it. Click on the link inside the message to open your Quarantine mailbox. From there you can release e-mail(s) back to your GroupWise inbox or delete any e-mail that is indeed SPAM. View the Anti-spam guide for more details on how this works.

| 4. Why do I receive an e-mail
indicating I sent a virus infected e-mail when I know I did not
send the e-mail?
The newest viruses and worms like to spread themselves via e-mail with spoofed e-mail addresses. If a pc becomes infected with a virus and your e-mail address is in the Address book, the virus will try to spread itself by using the e-mail addresses listed in the address book. The recipients e-mail system rejects the e-mail because it detected the virus, and a message shows up in your mailbox indicating you tried to send an e-mail with a virus attached to it. I recommend deleting these e-mails as 99.999% of the time the e-mail did not originate from your computer. If you want to be sure your pc is not infected with a virus, run a full virus scan of your hard-drive. Double-click the yellow shield (near your clock), select scan computer, choose your local c:\ drive and press SCAN.

How much e-mail are we allowed to have ?
We cap e-mail at 500 MB. That is plenty of mail for almost all users. If you get a warning about the size of your mailbox, you can click on the Mailbox Size Percentage box at the bottom right of the GroupWise window and from there you can clean-up your mailbox easily. Be careful, items deleted in this way are not sent to the trash, but are removed completely. ** Sent items count against you, so be sure to delete those items as well. Posted Items are actual your Calendar appts., so don't delete those unless you are sure they can be deleted safely. More details can be found here.
