Remote access to
GroupWise is available using the GroupWise Client software
(Windows, Macintosh, Linux), a web browser or a wireless PDA. All users must follow Campus
IT policies when connecting to GroupWise from off campus. Please
choose your preferred remote access method for more details.

Linux Client

- Download the software to a temporary directory by
clicking here. (This file is 125Mb and should only be downloaded with a high speed internet connection like DSL, Cable Modem or FIOS)
- In a terminal window at your Linux workstation, change to the temporary directory, then use the following
commands to uncompress and untar the downloaded file:
gunzip gw702HP1aclnxus.tar.gz
tar -xvzf gw702HP1aclnxus.tar
- The result is a directory with the directory structure root\image\date\client\linux.
- Change to the root\image\date\client\linux directory.
- Run the GroupWise Setup program to install the GroupWise Cross-Platform client software:
./install
- To start the GroupWise client after installation, click the GroupWise icon on your Linux desktop.
- Use the following information if
needed:
MEDICINE - Online server address: gw.medicine.umaryland.edu
EPI - Online server address: epigw.umaryland.edu
Port: 1677
