Effective 3/18/08, we are no longer purchasing Dell Optiplex Desktop computers. Desktop computers will be centrally ordered and custom-built using high quality name-brand parts. Dell
Latitude remains the required laptop model, however Dell
Inspiron is acceptable if needed. Hewlett Packard computers
provided by UMM will continue to be supported. Our standard computer will satisfy most users, however, we can customize the computer to your specific needs if requested. To request a new computer, please submit a Helpstar indicating quantity, any requested upgrades, and the project id to be charged. All computers come with a full three-year warranty on parts and software as sold/delivered.

PRINTERS
Hewlett
Packard
is the standard for network printers. We encourage Hewlett Packard
printers as a local printer solution, however it is not required (
AMA, our printer support contractor, may not support other brands ). Xerox is the standard for networked copiers and multi-function devices.
If you wish to purchase a networked copier from another vendor, please contact
the I/S team to request an exception. Xerox has the state contract and has been thoroughly tested with our network.
